Beginning the drawing

I did my very first chalk art street at this weekend in Wallaceburg Ontario at their Dragon Boat Races, peripheral to, beside, and just downtown.

A random helper drops in spontaneously and draws the toes.

The wet technique just sucks up the chalk. Im afraid I won’t have enough colour.

And the saturation, of course, fades when dry.

Notice the ground and sky drying. I want more saturation and richer colours.

Final. Dry. In the shade. Not so bad now the sun isn’t blowing out the values.

That was fun. I ache like blazes. I suspect that pro screevers actually make up their own chalks and colours. Even the Crayola set wasn’t rich enough.
